Hi all, after numerous complaints I've made to Verizon, the FCC, and state consumer protection, it seems like Verizon FINALLY did something about my FIOS Internet. Hope things are better for folks on our TF2 servers and Mumble.
Situation: Each evening, $h1t hits the fan. Latency goes up and my download bandwidth goes to pre-twentyfirst-century levels (i.e., 5Mbps instead of 50+). All this on business-class service and with seemingly no concern on Verizon's part.
Status update: Last night there was an unannounced outage, and the current rumor is that some hardware was replaced at my local CO. My routes have changed, and pings to my local gateway are the best they've been in months.
Hope: Everything is fixed. We'll see tonight.
