Since swearing and rude remarks are getting a bit out of hand, we just put a new plugin on all our servers that looks for some common words and does things if it finds you saying them....
1st offense, gag for 2 mins
2nd offense, gag for 4 mins
3rd offense, gag for 6 mins
4th offense, kick
If people decide take it to the voice chat, then its just as easy to also add in turning off your voice capability. If people start to disconnect and come right back with more crap, then its also just as easy to add in permanent tracking of your steamid and then have it, say, ban you at the 6th offense for a certain amount of time or something.
It's really sad that we have to do this. Please grow up a little and have some respect on our servers.

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of 'hot xxx galore'. While I clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", I muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

i understand about the text blocking but voice, alot of people swear without realizing it, and if it bother's other people they should just mute the swearers (like me and kennyboy for an example)
and i agree with wanker that could generate alot of lagg.
just a questiom, what made this new offense sensor come into play????

Go ahead, put in the swear filter. Maybe it will stop me from swearing so much. As for the voice, let them mute me. I'm probably muted by half the people on the server anyway.

Im the exact same way as leadinjector. Half the server mutes me, then when i try to say something like "they are coming from behind" or "he went left" or whatever nobody hears me

Well..once people start to grow up..then maybe we will. If you are proud of the fact that you are one of the individuals who half the server mutes...YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM.

Just making a point, sir. I personally don't think the filter is a bad idea, because I didn't really use too many bad words to begin with unless I was extremely angry. I try to be clever and funny with my expletives, ask moose or Avo
